Bully of the Month.....
Marinebull’s All The Way “Goober”

You'd think after this long a time, we and Goober would be totally forgotten. I mean, who wants to look at old
fogies and has beens. But, as Karl said, it's the last 30 seconds of our 15 minutes of fame. I'm sorry if I sent this
previously - I've forgotten who the original e-mail went out to.
Tuesday a four man film crew (Director, Cameraman, Camera crewman who operated the boom microphone
and Production Manager, "Tomo", who interpreted for the director, who didn't speak English) from Japan TV were
here for almost 6 hours to interview us for a documentary on Bulldogs. The first part will be a 30 minute segment
then later in the year a longer special on Goober is planned. The filming went very well, was fun and interesting.
When Tomo first contacted us we had no idea what to expect. The producer in Japan is interested in Bulldogs.
We were surprised when a professional crew of 4 arrived.
Everything went very well. The only snag was the crew's trip here - their flight into El Paso was cancelled (they
were coming from Oregon where they'd interviewed the man that did Goober's frozen semen) so they had to fly
into Albuquerque and drive down from there so things didn't start until noon (it was scheduled for 10 a.m.) They
left here at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, and drove to EP to catch a 6:00 a.m. flight Wednesday morning. Whew! Tomo
called from Dallas with a few more questions and to ask for some pictures he wants me to scan and e-mail.
They had just finished an interview with our friend, Dennis O'Connor, then they're heading to Florida. After that
they'll go back to Los Angeles where three of them live. The director is from Japan. Tomo, the production
manager (young guy in plaid shirt), will send me a few DVDs - hopefully in time for my trip to MN in May.
Surprisingly, I really wasn't very nervous - just busy beforehand trying to find all the stuff they'd asked for. They
wanted trophies (we'd re-donated all of them back to the local clubs long ago) but still had enough silver and
shiny things to make a decent display. Remember, years ago we had a few silver sales to help pay for show
expenses so don't have nearly as much as we once did. Most have been stored in a shed since we retired except
for a few pieces we used for the family reunion and our 50th anniversary.
Attached are some of the pictures I took before and after the interview. I didn't have the foresight to have someone
take one of us being interviewed. Hopefully that will turn out okay on film.
